Everyday Luxury Ideas for Busy Women

This blog post is sponsored by Mane ‘n Tail ® , all opinions and everyday luxury ideas are my own.

Self-care is the new luxury. I don’t usually have time to spend half the day at the spa even before 2020. 🙂 Instead of spending a lot of time sporadically taking care of myself, I try to incorporate bits of time throughout the day. Not only is this more doable for a work from home mom like myself, it’s also more results oriented. Today I want to share a few everyday luxury ideas for busy women, and share a new product that I discovered by Mane “n Tail!

Self-care is the new luxury. I don’t usually have time to spend half the day at the spa even before 2020. 🙂 Instead of spending big chunk of time sporadically taking care of myself, I try to incorporate bits of time throughout the day. Not only is this more doable for a work from home mom like myself, it’s also more results oriented. Today I want to share a few everyday luxury ideas for busy women. And share a new product that I discovered by Mane ‘n Tail that’s part of it.

My History with Mane ‘N Tail

I’m so excited to partner with Mane ‘n Tail, a beauty company that’s been part of my life since I was a young ballerina. My fellow dancer friends recommended the shampoo and conditioner after I was struggling with the tangles of putting my hair in a bun everyday. Some of the girls also loved that they felt it made their hair grow stronger after all we put it through. I’ve returned to the Repair ‘n Replenish Shampoo & Conditioner off and on since then, most recently after having kids. There’s hormonal hair loss after that was needing extra Biotin, which is in their shampoo & conditioner.  I recently discovered Hoofmaker, available at Sally Beauty. It is a moisturizing lotion that also strengthens your nails. The scent is so light, it doesn’t compete with any other perfume I may have on and it’s never greasy, just richly hydrating.

Everyday luxuries for busy women

If you’re like me, you may have considered getting to wash your hair in the shower self-care this past year! It’s simply been insane at home. We’ve all been in zoom calls where our kids take over and our clients or coworkers know every room in our home. It’s simply the new normal. I think we’ve had to work harder than ever to carve out valuable time to truly have self-care, aka, luxury! Here are everyday luxury ideas that inspire and help.

  1. Hand Massage- Using Mane N’ Tail’s Hoofmaker, my husband and I exchange hand massages at the end of the day! If he’s not available, I give myself my own hand massage. Hand massage has been shown to decrease anxiety, aid in sleep. You can check out this article on how to do it yourself. I much rather have him do it and it’s a nice way for us to connect while we watch a show or talk. You can use the same technique on someone else!
  2. At Home Manicure- I haven’t been to a nail salon in a year. However, I always feel so much better when I have my nails done. The beauty of Hoofmaker is that it help moisturize my hands. But not only that! It prevents hand aging and helps also strengthens my nails. I’ve made it a little ritual to give myself a mini-manicure every Sunday while my kids play. Sometimes I’m listening to a podcast or my Sunday church service online.
  3. Workout- To me this is one of the most luxurious things I can do for myself. Everything seems clearer in my mind, and I feel glowy and beautiful after a good sweat. Not to mention healthy! My feet have been through a lot since my dancing days. Fore example, at this point I have been dancing almost 40 years! While a dancer never wants to fully get rid of calluses, I make sure my feet and ankles are as soft as can be with Hoofmaker!
  4. Spa Hand Treatment at Home- If I’m really feeling special, I do what I call “spa hands”. I like to turn on some candles, love this one, and meditate while I heavily moisturize my hands with Hoofmaker. Then I wrap hands in warm/hot damp towels while I relax. It’s great to put a warm damp towel over your eyes and maybe add an essential oil.  I caution you to make sure your kids are with another caregiver for the 15 minutes or so. I have been unguarded when they jump on me while I’m completely relaxed. Scary. 🙂
  5. Waking up an hour earlier- Hear me out! I know this sounds crazy. How is this a luxury? Boo! Honestly, coming from an extreme night owl, this is life-changing! You truly have an extra hour if you can beat the crowd to get up in the morning. I don’t recommend missing an hour of sleep. However, sometimes I’m guilty of staying up due to modern day world problems; scrolling. If I can put my phone away and actually go to bed, I get up earlier! This way I can get discretionary time and be more productive througout the day.

I hope you try some of these everyday luxuries ideas for busy women so that you can “replenish the well”! I know that when I do I have more bandwidth to execute all that is currently required of us.
