The London Looks- what to see!

london style westminster

I’ll start by saying that you can’t really go wrong anywhere you go in London! The tough part is just making decisions and lining up the days if you don’t go with a structured tour, which I never do. I did a little research and in the end was pretty happy with how it all panned out for our girl’s trip! One thing that was super helpful was the London Pass. At first, I was skeptical but it includes several admittance tickets, one day of hop on/ hop off bus and one day of the Thames River Tour! So we did 2 days of that and freelanced for 2.

The first day we were there we took it super light and just walked around the area where we stayed, which was Westminster. I recommend this area because it’s super central, has many price point options and you are right by the London Eye, Big Ben (now Queen Elizabeth clock or something like that), the Thames River tour pick-ups, the famed Westminster Abbey and not too far from Buckingham & Piccadilly Circus!

The second day we used our London Pass to hop on hop off and also gain entrance to Kensington Palace! This was truly a treat; the gardens, Princess Diana’s Fashion Story and the State Rooms! We hopped on and off a few more stops to explore Harrod’s department store, a famous type of Berdorf’s level of shopping and made it back home just in time for dinner by the London Eye (below).

The 3rd day we took advantage of our other London Pass perk, a hop on/hop off tour of the Thames River which stopped at the London Bridge and the Tower of London! The Tower was probably a close top attraction. We loved the history and dramatic structures on the grounds. There were beautiful armor displays and it was extremely impactful in terms of connecting us to so much history! We left with an eerie, inspired feeling, feeling grateful to live in modern times! Later that night we had dinner at Piccadilly Circus at an awesome place called Cecchetti’s which was affordable, strikingly beautiful and in the heart of the circus, the Time’s Square of London!

The last full day we did not use the London Pass, as Buckingham Palace is not included. Starting in late July thru 30 Sept., one can visit the state rooms at Buckingham! I had no idea when I booked the trip, so I was pleasantly surprised and grateful we got to enter! I highly recommend it, you can’t believe your eyes at the majestic drawing rooms and treasures in there! If you buy stuff at the Queen Elizabeth shop, don’t forget to get your tax return form to claim the taxes at the airport!

We wrapped up that last whole day by going to Phantom of the Opera, which I think everyone should do! I’ve seen the show about 4 times before, and this was my favorite version of the production. It’s at Her Majesty’s Theatre and it’s magnificent! It’s such a beautiful story and the music carries you away entirely. We went to have post-show tea at a restaurant next to the Theatre that had several other show patrons there for the same!

I would have loved to visit Windsor, Mayfair and Notting Hill, so will have to plan my return! What are your London recs?! XO, Z
