How to Wear Skinny Jeans in 2024

I’m sorry but nothing looks as good as skinny jeans stuffed in a knee high boot! Amirite!? Here’s how to wear skinny jeans in 2024. These are a favorite pair of skinny jeans by the way, that comes in several colorways!

Layers- How to think of your shoes and skinny jeans

Think of your pants and boots as layers. If you want to show off your boot while wearing jeans, skinny jeans are your best bet to avoid bunching (although that’s a look too). If you maintain this idea of layering pants and boots, that’s why many fashion people say wear straight, boot cut, flare, etc. and bring your knee high boots under. Many shoes are more flattering under these cuts of jeans vs skinny jeans because it’s a more contemporary silhouette. Plot twist- But it’s old money…. To further add a twist in these styling opinions, this type of riding equestrian look is very old money aesthetic and therefore a classic! Which is still trending!

Old Money Aesthetic

Once we get over the annoying label, old money aesthetic = classic style! I love styling skinny jeans with this equestrian inspired look with a long blazer, knee high western inspired boots and a structured tote. If you don’t have riding pants or camel colored suede leggings, the skinny jeans are a great alternative!

Western Inspired with Skinny Jeans

I’ve long loved this cowgirl look with western boots and belt, tied up denim button down and Guess Girl vibes! It’a very functional skinny jeans Fall look and easy to recreate with items in your closet!

3. Skinny Jeans With Ballet Flats

Ballet flats go with everything! In this case, you can have a comfortable, coffee run look with ballet flats or loafers, blazer and favorite sunnies.

4. Skinny Jeans with Stilletos

A big trend for 2024 is cuffed pants hemlines! So if you cuff your skinny jeans, you’ve got yourself a trending look. Elongate your legs with pointy toe stilletos, such as these Kate Louboutin classics or better for budget here!

Black or White Skinny Jeans

I joke that a gateway skinny jeans look is with black or white jeans. It just feels more harmless and can look like more of a trouser that’s a cigarette pants type of look. I love wearing black jeans with mid length calf boots, uggs, or stilettos too.

Why You Should NOT throw out your skinny jeans

Moral of the story- there’s almost always a place for the pieces already in your closet, so don’t throw things out unless they don’t fit or you’re emotionally done with them. Everyone comes back, even bell bottoms! Make sure you harvest your closet and gift, thrift or donate but if you love a pair of skinny jeans you got in 2017, keep them.
