5 fashion brands giving back during COVID-19

As Mr. Rogers famously said, “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.'”. Well, this is what we’re all looking for lately and there are so MANY helpers. In a recent blog post I shared how I’m looking to be more mindful when I shop and part of that includes supporting companies that stand for something OR are doing something. Here’s 5 fashion brands that giving back during COVID-19 crisis. All of which I’ve personally loved and tried!

Shoe company Seecaas is a luxury shoe company founded by Ashley & Adam Hensley. The brand is all about a family helping families. Through their grant program the work with families needing financial help for adoption! For COVID-19, they are donating to FEED THE CHILDREN! From now until the end of May, the shoecompany will be partnering with the organization to support them in their efforts. Some of these include to supply healthy meals and hygiene products to children and families in need during the COVID-19 pandemic. A bit about their products:

I chose the navy ballet flats with a gold toe because I love a nautical look for Spring/Summer! They are super comfortable and beautifully packaged in a a keepsake box which you can store them in. I’m in love with the craftsmanship and fine details. Some of these include studs on the strap, inspired by Valentino accessories and the cushioning inside! You won’t regret treating yourself to these ballet flats!

Stella & Ruby Jewelry

Jewelry company Stella & Ruby is currently having a sale where everything is now 50% off! They are also donating 10% to COVID19 research! You can get free shipping on orders over $100 and stock up for your Spring/Summer accessories here. They have tortoise, turqoise, chiffon petals, butterflys, you name it!

About the product

I first came across Stella & Ruby and Nordstrom when I wasn’t looking for jewelry, actually! What caught my eye were the most beautiful chiffon petal drop statement earrings in hot pink. I didn’t think twice about it and got them and wore them during NYFW Fall 2019. I did a few photo shoots with them so I tagged them and have been working with them ever since. Now, I probably wear their jewelry 50% of the time. I love beautiful bold constructions that are not too heavy and look original. Despite, the low to mid price point, these pieces are really well made and will last for years to come.

Hong Hoa Couture

Late last year I collaborated with fashion designer Hong Hoa for a beautiful editorial shoot at the Auditorium Theater! I got to meet her last NYFW 2020 and we totally hit off! She texted on Instagram when were both at a show and asked “hey, is that you in yellow?” LOL. It was me! This amazing mother, fashion powerhouse and fitness fiend has pivoted her couture business to make masks! If you need masks, you can find her here.
